What is CBD?

Cannabidiol in one page: what it is, how it differs from THC, and why Kush sources it from hemp.

The US National Library of Medicine defines Cannabidiol (CBD) as one of the many naturally occurring chemical compounds found in the Cannabis sativa plant (marijuana/hemp). When isolated from the rest of the chemical compounds, CBD gives its users a feeling of peace, calm, and relaxation.

In marijuana, CBD is not as prominent as delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, better known as THC. This psychoactive chemical compound makes up the bulk of the plant. It is what makes people high.

CBD differs from THC in that it has no psychoactive effect on its users. This means there’s no head high. Although CBD’s presence in marijuana is miniscule, it is very prominent in hemp.

For this reason, Kush CBD Vape uses CBD that is derived specifically from hemp plants. Every draw from our pods is as pure as the last.

The organic compound is often used for general pain relief, but is also used in medicines that are used to treat epilepsy. It comes in many different forms such as oils, balms, gummies, and vapes.

According to the World Health Organization, pure CBD is not associated with any public health related issues. Combine that with the premium quality of the CBD in Kush pods, and you have the best kind of all-natural pain relief.

Broad spectrum vs full spectrum

Broad spectrum means the extract keeps CBD and minor cannabinoids such as CBC and CBG but has the THC removed. Full spectrum keeps the whole plant profile, including trace THC under the 0.2% legal limit. Kush pods are broad spectrum with zero THC; King Kush pods are full spectrum.

Why terpenes matter

Terpenes are the aromatic compounds that give each cannabis strain its smell and character. They are the reason Super Lemon Haze tastes like lemon and LA Confidential tastes like pine and earth. Kush pods use only cannabis-derived terpenes and no synthetic flavoring.
